ELGIN – Funeral service for Robert Isadore Johnson Jr, 73, will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev Stewart Kidd will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, PO Box 66, Elgin, SC 29045. Mr. Johnson passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late Robert Isadore Johnson, Sr. and Lizzie Jane Godwin Johnson. He served in the United States Army and retired from DuPont. He was a member of Lugoff Masonic Lodge 411 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife 49 years, Marvia Pamela Brazell Johnson; sons, Robert Landis Johnson (Sarah) of Mt. Pleasant and Herman Ashley Johnson of Columbia; siblings, Dora Stanley (Charles), Mike Johnson (Cheryl), Lila Jones (Jerry), Ava Ellis (Jerry), Jason Johnson (Donna) and Valerie Johnson; and grandchildren, Emma Johnson, Mattox Johnson, Natalie Johnson and Evan Johnson.
