Obituary of Charlie Armentrout

LUGOFF - Graveside service for Charles Edward “Charlie” Armentrout, 77, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden. Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Springvale Baptist Church, Building Fund. Mr. Armentrout died Saturday, December 15, 2007, after a short illness. Born on December 25, 1929 in Clifton Forge, Va., he was a son of the late Herman “Jim” Armentrout and Ruth Armentrout Beck and stepson of Margueritte Armentrout, all of Virginia. He served in the United States Marine Corp. He retired from DuPont after 35 years of service He was a member of Springvale Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Armentrout; son, Carroll Lee (Claudine) Armentrout of Lake Wateree; daughter, Janet King of Columbia; son, Randy (Brenda) Armentrout of Cassatt; step-daughter, Cindi (Wayne) Thompson of Lugoff; step-son, Ranz DeBruhl of Lake Wateree; ten grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Smith of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Mary Alice Wingfield of Chesapeake, Va.; and a brother, Jimmy Armentrout of Mass. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Armentrout; brother, Graham Armentrout; and a sister, Alma Armentrout.
