Obituary of Wayne Flowers

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Gary Wayne Flowers, 69, will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton and the Rev. Robert Ridley will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Parkinson Disease Foundation. Rev. Flowers, husband of the late Janice Gayle Flowers, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Born in Bishopville, he was the son of the late Edward and Evelyn Evans Flowers. He served in the United States Army and served during Vietnam. He was a Baptist Minister at Lucknow Baptist Church and served several churches in Kershaw County and also served as a Hospice chaplain for many years. He was a member of the Kershaw County Chaplains Association. Surviving are his brother, John H. Flowers (Phyllis) of Camden; sisters, Glenda Ruple of Camden and Marcia Flowers of Asheville, N.C.; many nieces and nephews; god children, Tracey Carpenter, John Rice, Ashley Rice, Angela Coleman, Danny and Carla Watson, and Tim Shannon. He was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Flowers; sister, Evelyn Brown; brother-in-law, Bud Brown; and his baby dog, Panzy Belle.
