CAMDEN – Funeral service for Helen S. Gilmer, 81, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Camden with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the MS Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Gilmer, wife of the late James H. Gilmer, died Saturday, march 16, 2013. Born in Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Clara Toth Sathmary. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Young at Heart. She enjoyed ceramic baking and needle point. Surviving are her daughter, Gail Chalis (Herb) of Ormond Beach, Fla.; son, Kevin J. Gilmer of Camden; sister, Carol Brady; and grandchildren, Stephen Paiz and Christopher Paiz. She was predeceased by a sister, Louise Fogle.
