ELGIN – David Travis Scott, 43, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving family Maureen Caine, Michael Caine, and Lauren Caine; mother, Shirley Scott; brother, General Steven Scott; and many friends and family. He was predeceased by his father, Col. William Scott. David graduated from Richard Winn Academy in Winnsboro and attended Midlands Technical College. A mechanic by trade he was the service manager for Master Tire in Winnsboro and Blythewood until he started his own business Superior Pressure Washing for the last 9 years. David’s greatest love and accomplishments came from stockcar racing at local dirt tracks winning hundreds of races and three championships with MACD Racing Partners / Team 65. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 17 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
