ELGIN – A time to gather and celebrate the life of Philip W. “Phil” Vincent, 68, will be held on Tuesday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Vincent died at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late L.J. and Eva Gardner Vincent. He received his Bachelors of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina and retired from Schneider Electric. Mr. Vincent was raised in Kershaw where he played football. He was an avid USC football and baseball fan. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Outen Vincent; son Garret Vincent of Elgin; and sister, Jean Cobb (Jerry) of Kershaw.
