ELGIN – Funeral service for George Weldon Presnell, 86, will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Congregational Holiness Camp Ground with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Marc Sanders will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral home. Memorials may be made to Light House Ministries Building Fund. Mr. Presnell, husband of the late Willa Mae Green Presnell, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Born in Banner Elk, N.C., he was the son of the late Nathan Talbert and Dollie Hicks Presnell. He owned and operated County Line Pottery for many years and loved working with cement and making pottery. Surviving are his daughter, JoAnn Aldrich (Gene) of Elgin; sisters, Rilda Southerlin (Johnny) of Elgin and Frances Brassell of Elgin; grandchildren, David Aldrich of Elgin, Nathan Aldrich (Kathy) of Elgin and Travis Aldrich (Tammy) of Lugoff; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, “Princes”. He was predeceased by brothers, Junior A. Presnell and Newman Elda Presnell.
