ELGIN – Funeral service for Marilyn Carol Gaither, 56, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Gaither passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Gene Alexander and Margaret Jean Cogsdill White. She was a member of Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. She served on the Board with Cogsdill Tool. Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Robert Todd Gaither; daughter, Margaret Ann Gaither of Elgin; Robert Alexander Gaither of Elgin; brothers, Gordon White (Sonya) of Columbia and Stuart White (Suzy) of Ann Arbor, Mich.; sister, Cindy Perthou of Columbia; 7 nieces and nephews.
