Obituary of James Randall Mozingo
CAMDEN – Funeral services for James Randall Mozingo, 85, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Wateree Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Al Kissiah, the Rev. Taylor Wells, and the Rev. Sam Byrum will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Mr. Mozingo, husband of the late Louise Kissiah Mozingo, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017. Born in Lydia, he was a son of the late Clifton and Mae Pearl Galloway Mozingo. Mr. Mozingo served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a police officer and fireman for the city of Camden and retired from DuPont after 35 years. He was the former owner of the theater in Hartsville and Mozingo Lawn Care. Mr. Mozingo attended Lakeshore Church of God and Wateree Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Surviving are his daughter, Teresa Mozingo of Camden; granddaughters, Betsey Grier of Camden, Mary Catherine Weaver (Tammy Branham) of Elgin; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Mendal McLeod Mozingo.
