Obituary of Gayle Flowers
LUGOFF – Funeral services for Janice Gayle Flowers, 63, will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton and the Rev. Robert Ridley will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Council on Aging, 906 Lyttleton St, Camden, S.C. 29020 or Theil-Meyers Pet Adoption Center, 128 Black River Road, Camden, S.C. 29020.
Gayle is survived by her husband of 45 years, Rev. Gary Wayne Flowers; special Companion, Bella Renee; God Children, John Rice (Joelene), Ashley Rice (Tisa), Angel Coleman (Rock); numerous God Grandchildren; and the Family of God which she was a part of since her conversion in 1970.
Mrs. Flowers was a member of Springvale Baptist Church. She was part of the first graduating class of Lugoff-Elgin High School in 1972. She graduated from the Camden School of Hair Design and was a hairdresser for 25 years. She was faithful in serving as a pastor’s wife since 1979.
Gayle was a walking miracle, having been diagnosed with terminal heart disease in July of 1983. God knew she had more to do for His kingdom. She could say with a steadfast conviction, as she left this world, the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
The family would like to give a special thanks to Michelle Mobley and Tracey Carpenter for their loving support.
