CAMDEN - Memorial service for Harold W. Brink, 91, will be held Monday, October 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Mr. Brink died Thursday, September 25, 2008. Born in Gueydan, La., he was a son of the late Fred Brink and Lydia Uphoff Brink. He was a maintenance engineer with Dow Chemical Company in Pittsburg, Calif. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lena Henthorne Brink; daughters, Dixie (Hank) Cassady of Camden, and Janic Root of Salem, Ore.; sister, Vianna Langley of Bellville, Ill.; grandchildren, Greg Van Nort, Jeff Van Nort, Jason Van Nort, Eric Schmidt, Laura Slayton, Linda Koch, Melissa Martin, Beverly Thornton, Kari Cave, Larry Root, and Steve Root; 22 great-grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren.
