KERSHAW – Funeral services for Eugene Blease Ray, 74, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Ray Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association. Mr. Ray passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017. Born in Camden, he was a son of Carrie Hayes Pate and the late Blease Pete Ray. Mr. Ray enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and gardening. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Nannie Louise Ray; sons, Eugene “Gene” Ray, Jr. (Valerie) of Camden, Jamie Ray (Denitta Truesdale) of Cassatt; a sister, Betty Bowers (Joe) of Kershaw; and 5 grandchildren.
