LUGOFF - Celebration of the Life of Lucille “Red” Hendrix, 84, will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Bush River Memorial Park, Columbia. Brother Clifton DuBard will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at funeral home. Mrs. Hendrix, wife of the late Forrest W. Hendrix, died Saturday, November 3, 2007. Born in Greenville County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late George W. and Mattie Christine Carnes Coward. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness – Saint Andrews Congregation, and was devoted to her faith. She enjoyed sewing, writing, drawing, cooking and collecting dolls. She loved people and never met a stranger. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Donna Bittle of Lugoff, Susan and Richard Cook of Savannah, Ga., Debbie and Steve Jones of Lugoff, Shelia Causey of Lugoff, and Forrest Henry and Lynn Hendrix of Chapin; sisters, Iberia Dangerfield of Columbia and Nicola Jennings of Columbia; and many grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, some great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children, Gloria D. McRae, Janice O. Bannister, Benjamin G. Greer, III, Timothy Melvin Greer, and J.D. Greer.
