COLUMBIA – A service to celebrate the life of Margie D. Burrows, 84, will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Burrows passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Born in Chester, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Feaster Alexander and Bessie Jeanette Montgomery Doster. She retired from the South Carolina State Budget and Control Board where she was a purchasing agent. She enjoyed volunteering with seniors, dancing, cruising around the beach, and going on road trips with her sister, Dot and brother, James. Surviving are her children, Cathy Creech, Andy Burrows (Liba), Janet Yuen (Francis), Nancy Carlson (Ken), Pamela Burrows and Kenneth Burrows; grandchildren, Wendy Burton, Phillip Burrows, Sarah Burrows, Alex Burrows, Brian Burrows, Amy Yuen, Rebecca Yuen Lee, John Moody, Eric Carlson and Josh Harris; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Alexander Levan, Euan Burrows, Kendall Burton, Ewan Fleck, Valerie Claggett, Thomas Claggett, Blair Burrows, Connor Simison, Charlotte Simison, Zachary Burrows, Hayjin Burrows and Olivia Moody. “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” John 6:35
