ELGIN – A memorial gathering for Fred S. Peake, 84, will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on June 3, 2017 at 2pm after the Peake Family Reunion at the Sawney’s Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Building. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital. Mr. Peake passed away May 2, 2017. Born in Kershaw County, SC, on November 26, 1932, he was the son of the late Albert L. Peake and Mittie Atkerson Peake. He was a member of Sawney’s Creek Baptist Church and a former Mason and Shriner. He dearly loved his family. Surviving are his children, Cynthia Peake, Ricky Peake, Scott Peake, and Kevin Peake; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Clyde Albert Peake, James Thomas “Tommy” Peake, William Furman Peake, Shirley Farmer, Sylvia Peake, Kay Richardson, and Barbara Strong. He was predeceased by his son, Stephen David Peake; brothers, Jesse Thomas Peake and Charles Edward Peake; sister, Irene Wilson.
