CAMDEN - Funeral service for Frances Snyder Atkinson, 76, will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Atkinson, wife of the late Walter C. Atkinson, died Monday, September 1, 2008. Born in Laurens, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Carlton Snyder and Gladys Moore Tollison. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching the Atlanta Braves games, and cooking. She is survived her children; Janet (Charles) Mooneyhan of Camden, Phillip Atkinson of Camden, June (Eugene) Holland of Camden, Judy Atkinson of Camden, and Jody (Whitney) Atkinson of Camden; brothers, Robert Snyder, J.C. Tollison, and Earl Tollison; sister, Jean Eddings; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Jack Snyder and a sister, Doris Catoe.
