LUGOFF – Funeral service for Betty B. Horton, 77, will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Horton, wife of the late William L. Horton Sr., passed away at home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Born in Boonetown, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Sallie Hopkins Baker. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling and most of all her family. Surviving are her daughters, Reba Horton (Bonnie Ackerman) of Columbia and Wendy Burriss (Johnnie) of Lugoff; sisters, May Stokes (Thomas) of Cassatt and Diane Catoe (Donnie) of Bethune; and grandchildren, Amanda Horton, Adrian Horton, Katherine Burriss, and Samantha Burriss. She was predeceased by children, Rhonda Cheryl Horton and William Lewis Horton, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Baskins, Bertha Truesdale and Margie Morris.
