ELGIN – A private funeral service for William Edward Coleman, 80, will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Coleman passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Born in Cary, N.C., he was a son of the late William Waverly and Sudie Clark Coleman. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Wanita M. Coleman; sons, William Edward Coleman Jr. (Susan) of Lugoff, John Daniel Coleman (Jewel) of Cope, and Donald Ray Coleman (Patti) of Elgin; sisters, Barbara Jean Ayscue of Henderson, N.C. and Virginia Ann Price of Kinston, N.C.; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Marvin Holt Coleman; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Coleman.
