CASSATT- Funeral services for Claude Roderick “Roddy” Truesdale, 66, will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Wateree Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Richard Cameron and the Rev. Taylor Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mr. Truesdale passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017. Born in Camden, he was a son of the late Claude Swanson and Hattie Cobb Truesdale. Mr. Truesdale attended New Life Christian Outreach and served the community faithfully for 23 years as a volunteer fireman with Shepard Fire Department. He retired from Black River Electric Coop. after 35 years of service. He enjoyed working in the yard. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Dabney Truesdale; sons, Roderick “Greg” Truesdale of Elgin, Robert “Robbie” Truesdale of Elgin, Joshua Truesdale (Katie) of Camden; a daughter, Caroline Mehm (Kevin) of Cassatt; grandchildren; Matthew Truesdale and Alyson Mehm; and a sister, Carolyn Clark (Allen) of Dayton, TN. He was predeceased by brothers, Jack, William, and Larry Truesdale; and a sister, Teresa Bass.
