Obituary of Judith A. Logan

ELGIN - Judith A. 'Judy' Logan passed away at home on March 24, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. Born July 19, 1955 in Springfield, MA, the daughter of the late Donald Winter and the late Shirley (Watson). Proud of her New England roots, she grew up in Enfield and in the 80-90's she raised her family in West Suffield while working for Aetna Life & Casualty. In the late 90's she, and her late husband James 'Jim' Logan, moved to SC where she worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield SC until she retired. Friends and coworkers will recognize Judy by different surnames: Winter, Puntillo, LaFountain, Klaus and Logan. Before her illness, she relished entertaining at home, 'Elgin Beach.' She adored being outdoors, near the ocean, whale and dolphin watching, camping and stargazing. And she was a capable athlete excelling in softball, darts, bowling and billiards. Philanthropy was in her nature and she helped anyone in need, fostered numerous cats and dogs and advocated for animal rights and habitat protection. Most of all, Judy was a caring mother and devoted friend who loved to laugh, dance and sing. She will be missed dearly. She was predeceased by her step-father Philip 'Poppi' Watson and her brothers Bruce Winter, Alan Winter, and Jeffrey Winter. She is survived by her daughter, Rose Puntillo of San Francisco, CA; step-daughter, Erin Belden of Tolland; step-son, Brad Borland of Oak Harbor, WA; sister, Beth Bania; nieces, Catherine Monstello, Marian Hunter, Nicole Davis, Kaylah Culp, Michelle Forbes, Ashley Winter; nephew, Timothy Winter; goddaughter, Lindsey Fort of Traveler's Rest, SC and godson, Chris Fort of Greenville, SC. Services for Judy Logan will be private. Memorials may be made to: ASPCA, Midlands Humane Society, Oceana, Big Cat Rescue, Elephant Sanctuary, or Hospice Care of South Carolina.
