CAMDEN – Funeral services for Betty Jean Darity, 77, will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jack Cobb will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Mrs. Darity, wife of the late Jesse Darity, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Born in Bishopville, she was a daughter of the late Colie B. and Mattie Nesbit Hinson. Mrs. Darity was a member of Mt. Hebron Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Surviving are her children, Raymond Jordan, Jr. of Camden, Sandra Lynn Branham (Ernie) of Elgin, Scott Jordan (Melinda) of Elgin; step-son, Daniel Darity (Cathy) of McGee Town; brothers, James Hinson (Anthea), Billy Hinson (Sharon), Blease Hinson (Evelyn); sister, Emma Pressley (Marion); 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Frank and Jimmie Hinson.
