Dear Tracy and Sarah, Like you we now have a huge gap in our lives. Dorothy made such an impact on the lives of all the people she came in contact with. She also will be remembered for her love of animals, and once she got over the urge to trade her relatives for puppy dogs she became the best sister anyone could wish for.
All of us in England love her and miss her.

"If I should die and
Leave you here awhile
Be not like others sore
Who keep long vigils
By the silent dust and weep.
For my sake turn again
To life and smile
Nerving thy heart
And trembling hand to do
Something to comfort
Other hearts than thine.
Complete these dear
Unfinished Tasks of mine,
And I, perchance
May therein comfort you."
Some words from the
funeral of Diana,
Princess of Wales,
that may comfort you.

Tracy and Sarah, I was terribly sad to hear of Dorothy's passing, yet smiled at the part of the note that said she didn't want us mourning her death, but rather to celebrate her life. Her life made lasting impressions on mine. My brothers and I have tremendous memories of our visits to England to stay with 'Aunty' Dorothy (she's cringing I know) and Sarah.
The memories from those summers have lasted a lifetime!
Though you are saddened by your loss, hopefully you take some comfort in the fact that she had such a lasting impact on the lives she touched. She sure did on mine. Tomorrow, let her know that her "rotten colonials" miss her!

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was such a kind lady when I would come to your house after school or spend the night there. I know you will miss her greatly. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers, and if there is anything at all that I can do, please do not hesitate to call me. My number is 432-5320. Dear Tracy and Sarah, I share your sorrow in the loss of our Dorothy. She was a generous and deeply caring person with a special love for children and animals, especially her cats. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched with happiness. I have fond memories of a young Dorothy growing up in England. She always had a ready laugh and a helping hand. Dorothy and my sons were very fond of each other and she would always ask me "how are those gorgeous boys?" I can tell you that today they are very sad. We all remember you with love and will be with you in spirit as your life is celebrated on Sunday. From your loving sister, Audrey

I just heard about Dorothy. She is such a special lady and I will always remember the way she took care of Charlie & Jason for me. I never worried when she had them. Such a kind and warm person. The world should be full of Dorothy's! I know she will find Jason in the great place above and take care of him there too. They both are in a worderful place.
