CASSATT – Funeral service for Leonard Richard McCaskill Jr., 81, will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church with burial to follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Coates and the Rev. Frank Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association. Mr. McCaskill, husband of the late Bobbie Jo Anderson McCaskill, died Friday, February 22, 2013. Born in Lee County, he was the son of the late Leonard Richard McCaskill Sr. and Marie Parker McCaskill. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are his daughter, Wilhelmina Wyant (Wayne) of Camden; son, Richard E. Chappelear of Lancaster; sister, Clara Mae Tidwell; aunt, Ruth Sisk; grandchildren, Richard Boyce “Chip” Wyant (Tabitha) and Jason Lee “Jay” Wyant (Heather); and great-grandchildren, Alex Hunter Wyant, Jesse Boyce Wyant, Makayla Leann Wyant and Titus Wayne Wyant. He was predeceased by a son, Richard A. McCaskill; sister, Sara Boykin; and brother, W.L. McCaskill. The family extends a special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Beverly Cassady and Ebony for their loving care.
