Obituary of Lawrence Reynolds

Camden- A Graveside service for Lawrence John Reynolds, 90, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Bethesda Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John Hallman will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in John Knox Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethesda Presbyterian Church or The Community Medical Clinic. Mr. Reynolds, husband of the late Eleanor Hayward Reynolds, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017. Born in Hague, N.Y., he was a son of the late George and Josephine Fish Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was in the Marines and served during WWII with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Regiment and received a Purple Heart in Okinawa. He went on to work as a service manager for Parson’s Ford and after that he retired from Sandy Hill in Quality Control. Mr. Reynolds was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, and helped build the Community Medical Clinic. He once held a private pilot license and enjoyed wood working. Surviving are his children, Candi Reed (Rick) of Douglas, GA, Cindy Babcock (Greg) of Camden, Larry B. Reynolds (Nikki) of Rome, N.Y.; grandchildren, Michael Rist (Michelle) of Evan Mills, N.Y., Kristin Brewer (Eric) of Waterbury Center, VT, Owen Reynolds of Rome, N.Y.; step-grandchildren, Aaron Reed (Jennifer) of Douglas, GA, April Reed of Athens, GA; great-grandchildren, Julia Brewer, Garrett Brewer, Amber Rist, Cooper Rist; and 3 step-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife; a sister, Alice Watts; and a brother, Burton Reynolds.
