ELGIN – A gathering to celebrate the life of Sylina Johnson Mitchell, 42, will be Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Ms. Mitchell died December 18, 2016. Born in Lumberton, N.C., she was a daughter of Dennis James Johnson and Francine Boone Munn. Ms. Mitchell was the owner of Charlie Kirkland Peanuts. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are her parents, Francine Munn, Dennis Johnson; step-mother, Cynthia Johnson; children, Dystany D. Mitchell of Lugoff, Joseph Mitchell of Lugoff, grandchildren, Jaiden, Kolton, Kodence, and Karrianna; brother, D.J. Johnson; and a sister, Deanna Johnson.
