ELGIN – A memorial service for Dennis Malcolm Heath, 52, will be held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmie Hanf will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to L-E High School Athletics or the Kershaw County Historical Society. Mr. Heath died Saturday, December 17, 2016. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Rebecca Elaine Peake and the late Ralph Dennis Heath. Mr. Heath graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School where he was a star football player for JV and Varsity, and won a conference championship. He went on to attend both Winthrop University and USC. He enjoyed photography, landscaping, reading and was a history buff. Surviving are his mother, Rebecca Peake; sisters, Kim Stokes (Randy) of Lugoff, Misty Garcia of Elgin; nephews, Harrison Garcia, Heath Stokes; niece, Hayden Stokes; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
