Mr. Brown, husband of the late Evelyn Jean Flowers Brown, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. Born in Florence, he was a son of the late Maxie Denny and Evelyn Beasley Brown. After serving in the Army National Guard, he became a master electrician and worked for Mills Electric and also Fluor Daniels. Mr. Brown was a dedicated member of Freedom Outreach Baptist Church.
Bud was a fun, loving person and loved by everyone. As an ordained deacon, he took his responsibilities to his church and his Lord passionately. He cared deeply for others, especially children and the elderly. He found joy in helping others in any way he could, from cutting grass to entertaining kids with his “Freedom Express” train. He was a handyman and enjoyed playing golf. Although he will be missed by all who knew him, he is enjoying heaven with his wife of 50 years, Evelyn.
Surviving are his precious daughter, Sandy Ridley (Robert) of Camden; grandchildren, Amber Ridley and Austin Ridley; sisters, Sherry Brown Moak (Richard) of Elgin, Linda Brown Rush of Camden; and a brother, Jerry Brown (Mary Ballew) of Myrtle Beach.
