Elgin – A graveside service for Doris Miles Fulmer, 91, will be held Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in Blaney Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jacob Helsely and the Rev. Philip Blankenship will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church. Mrs. Fulmer, wife of the late Alfred Rhett Fulmer, Sr., passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. Born in Blaney, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Walter Leon and Easter Lillie Owens Miles. Mrs. Fulmer was a member of Blaney Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Woodmen of the World and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are her sons, Alfred R. Fulmer, Jr. of Camden, Donald Walter Fulmer (Belinda) of Elgin, Dale Kenneth Fulmer (Virginia) of Elgin; daughter, Doris Jean Hodge (William) of Camden; sisters, Betty Poole of Elgin, Gloria Squires of Camden; daughter-in-law, Sharron Morris; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Mildred Branham, Emma Dora Bilbo, Faye Duich, Jean Miles; and brothers, William “Billy” Miles and Buster Miles.
