CAMDEN – A memorial service for John Vernon Dollar, Jr., 54, will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4-5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kershaw County Foster Parent Association. Mr. Dollar passed away Friday, November 25, 2016. Born in Tallahassee, FL, he was a son of Louise Jeffcoat Meetze and the late John Vernon Dollar, Sr. Mr. Dollar was a police officer in West Columbia for 24 years. He was a member of the Kershaw County Foster Parent Association and Blaney Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Shannon Elizabeth Dollar; children, Chase Dollar, Quinn Dollar and Caleb Dollar; mother, Louise Meetze; brothers, Mike Dollar of Columbia, David Dollar (Leigh Ann) of Crawfordville, FL; nephew, Ashton Dollar; and a niece, Ashleigh Dollar.
