CAMDEN – A memorial service for Willis Riggs “Bill” Stropes, 88, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Mr. Stropes passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Born in Mt. Washington, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Gertrude Quick Stropes. After 30 years of service, he retired from the United States Navy having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Elsie Webster Stropes; son, Kirk W. Stropes (Beverly) of Cassatt; grandchildren, Kyle Matthew Stropes and Jeremy Michael Stropes; and great-granddaughter, Ensley Marie Stropes. He was predeceased by brothers, Charles “Al” Stropes, Lycurges “Curge” Stropes, and Ralph Stropes; and sisters, Letha “Lee” Graham and Betty Liest.
