PONTIAC – Funeral service for George Dowling “Bubba” Delk, 82, will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Spears Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Greg Sweet will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Spears Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Delk, husband of the late Jean Jackson Delk, passed away at home on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Born in Pontiac, he was the son of the late George Walter and Bertha Lee Delk. He served in the United States Navy and was a retired Carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are his son, George A. Delk (Cathy); daughter, Sharon Jeffers (Jerry); sisters, Beatrice Jackson and Nioaka Richardson (Otis); grandchildren, Adam Delk, Aubrey Delk and Ashley Jeffers; sister-in-law, Corrie Delk; and brother-in-law, Bill Potter. He was predeceased by brother, Randolph Delk; sisters, Florine “Sister” Potter and Mary “Doolie” Todd; and brothers-in-law, Russell Jackson and Levon Todd.
