Obituary of Jack F. Watts
LUGOFF – Funeral services for Jack F. Watts, Sr., 83, will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Springvale Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Springvale Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 880, Lugoff, S.C. 29078.
Mr. Watts, husband of the late Mary Ruth Hornsby Watts, passed away at the home on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Born in Lugoff, he was a son of the late Robert and Edna Rabon Watts. Mr. Watts retired from DuPont after 44 years and 4 months. He was a member of Kershaw Masonic Lodge 29 and Springvale Baptist Church where he served on many committees, most recently the cemetery committee, and was a faithful member of the Senior Adult Men Sunday School Class. Mr. Watts was the president of the Sawney’s Creek Hunting Club for 30 years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and was an avid Clemson fan.
Surviving are his daughter, Debra W. Goff (Dean) of Elgin; sons, Jack F. “Jacky” Watts Jr. (Tonya) of Lugoff and Mark R. Watts (Donna) of Lugoff; brother, Billy R. Watts (Marilyn) of Lugoff; and sister, Frances Peake (Bonnie) of Lake View; grandchildren, Hollie Watts McCluney (Brad), Michael Cody Watts (Kendall), Mark Reed Watts (Hannah) and Lauren Elizabeth Watts; and great-grandchildren, Owen McCluney and Annabelle Watts.
