CASSATT - Funeral service for O.D. Brazell, 82, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Freewill Baptist Church, Cassatt, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ernest Rabon and Rev. Bill Bishop will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron Freewill Baptist Church or Cassatt Baptist Church. Mr. Brazell, husband of the late Juanita Twitty Brazell, died Monday, July 28, 2008. Born in Winter Haven, Fla., he was a son of the late Thomas Earl and Janie Hammond Brazell. He served in the United States Navy. He retired as a truck driver after 50 years. Mr. Brazell enjoyed fishing, baseball, stockcar racing, gardening, dancing, and camping. He is survived by his daughter, Paulette (Mike) Stephens of Bethune; sons, Larry (Joan) Brazell of Cassatt, and Lewis (Audrey) Brazell of Sarasota, Fla.; special friend, Edna Burke; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene “Buck” Brazell; sisters, Earline Renew, Louise Worrell, and Lucy Evans.
