ELGIN – Memorial service for Alan F. Froehle, 78, will be held at a later date in Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of SC or the Animal Humane Society. Mr. Froehle passed away September 29, 2016. Born in Cincinnati, OH, on February 26, 1938, he was the son of the late Carl Froehle and Virginia Schaefer Froehle. He was a private pilot and enjoyed fishing, shooting skeet, boating, reading, and gardening. He was also an avid golfer and bridge player. Mr. Froehle taught himself to play the organ and use computer software. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Judy Carsey Froehle; children, Doug (Melody) Froehle, Steven (Denise) Froehle, and Danny Froehle; step-son, Andrew (Shannon) Baker; step-daughter, Alana (Tony) Ankrum; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; sisters, Virginia Froehle, RSM and Terry Ganote; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ken Ganote.
