LUGOFF – Funeral services for Peter Wayne Drake, 60, will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The family request that you dress casual, no suits or ties. The Rev. John Hollman will officiate. Following the burial, there will be a celebration of Peter’s life at the Drake Family Farm, 10 One Under Lane, Lugoff, SC 29078, please bring a covered dish to share. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Instead of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to The American Heart Association. Mr. Drake passed away Monday September 12, 2016. Born in Kokomo, IN, he was a son of the late Mary Joan Rower. Mr. Drake attended Bethesda Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the American Association of Professional Farriers, the S.C. Association of Professional Farriers, Certified Farriers, and Master Farriers. He enjoyed inventing, welding, metal working, problem solving, murder mysteries, drawing, and research and development. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Mendelssohn Drake; son, Matthew Drake Mendelssohn; and a sister, Sandra Parkes.
