DALZELL - A graveside service for Rudell G. Boykin, 61, will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Tim Shirley and Rev. Trent McLaughlin will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice House, P.O. Box 100551, Florence, S.C. 29501-0551. Mrs. Boykin died Wednesday, July 23, 2008. Born in Tellfair County, Ga. she was a daughter of Grover Giddens and the late Gertrude Roberson Giddens. She was a tax technician with Blue Cross Blue Shield. She loved painting, reading, and fishing. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mitchell L. Boykin; children, Mandi Boykin of Elkridge, Md., Trudy (Mitchell) Branham of Camden, and Mitchette G. Boykin of Dalzell; brothers, Gary Giddens, James Giddens, and David Giddens; sisters, Etheylene Massey, Pauline Cordell, Willene Durden, Vondell Woodard, Betty Martin, Debbie Davis, and Claudie Cordell; grandchildren, Maggie Branham, Sarrah Branham, and Emmalyn Creel. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ginger A. Boykin.
