Bethune – Funeral services for Peter King, 78, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Hill Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Church cemetery. The Rev. Elrich Vance will officiate. Mr. King passed away Friday, September 9, 2016. Born in Bishopville, he was a son of the late Sim and Bessie Wilson King. Mr. King was a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, wrestling, and NASCAR. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mary Louise Dunham King; children, Debra Johnson (Carlton) of Canton, Ga, Kathy McCaskill of Bethune, Bessie Hagins (Willie) of Bethune, George King (Tyra) of Bethune; siblings, Earlene Hough, Mary Ann Scarborough, Elizabeth Haggins (Bobby), Walter King (Betty), Willie King (Pearl); 13 grandchildren; 1 adopted grandson; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Timothy King, Sr.; and siblings, Sim King, Bessie McCaskill, Luvenia Sowell, and Dina McCaskill.
