Obituary of Ray E. Wiedemann

ELGIN – Graveside service for Ray Edward Wiedemann, 86, will be held on Monday at 11:00 in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Tim Burelson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church or a charity of one’s choice. Mr. Wiedemann passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Carl and Oadie Hembree Wiedemann. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a master electrician with Cashion Electricians. Mr. Wiedemann was a member of the American Legion Post 17 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Annell Barfield Wiedemann; son, Randy Edward Wiedemann (Colette) of Pomaria; granddaughter, Miranda Wiedemann; great-granddaughter, Illyria Wiedemann; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Cannon (Justin) and Patrick Gray; and step-greatchildren, Jake and Riley Cannon. He was predeceased by son, John Mendel Wiedemann; brothers, Carl Wiedemann, Lloyd Wiedemann, Robert Wiedemann and Roy Wiedemann; and sisters, Clara Fredrick, Rachel Somogyi, Elizabeth Scott and Margaret Johnson.
