NEWPORT, N.C. – Funeral service for Joshua John Atkinson, 31, will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday 1:30-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Joshua died on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Born in Jeannette, Pa., he was the son of James Victor Atkinson III and Sandra Lee Stinebiser Eberts. He was a roofer and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his fiancé, Megan Seigler; daughter, Aubrey Grace Atkinson; mother and step-father, Sandra and Gregory Eberts; father, James Atkinson III; sister, Amber Atkinson; brother, William Atkinson; grandmother, Elizabeth Eberts; great-grandmother, Betty Good; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
