CAMDEN – Funeral services for Walter Woods, 64, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Hill Baptist Church, Bethune, S.C., with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Elridge Vance will officiate. Family and friends may view on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mr. Woods died Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Born in Bethune, he was a son of Isabel King Woods and the late Marshall Woods. Mr. Woods worked as an auto mechanic, A/C and refrigeration mechanic for The Kendall Company, and also worked with Vince Colette Construction in Paterson, N.J., and Charlotte Steel Mill. Surviving are his children, Shanace Armstrong, Latoya Henderson, Veronica Woods, Virginia Richardson, Wanda Rivers, Derrick Clyburn, Eric Clyburn, Markisha Swepson, Arkeyia Cox, Ghuneem Armstrong; siblings, Mary Ruth Bracey, Mary Louise Robinson, Isa Woods; and a host of grandchildren and other relatives. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ariel Woods; siblings, Robert Charles Woods, Major Charles Woods, Marshall Woods, Jr., Calvin Woods and Marie Gilliam.
