LUGOFF – Margaret Salmond, born on May 15, 1933, daughter of the late Matilda Brooks of Lugoff, passed away in peace on Monday, February 4, 2013. Margaret accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was a member of Greater Refuge Temple Church in New York, NY, where she resided and served as a prayer warrior until her health began to deteriorate and moved back to her native Lugoff, S.C. in 2001. She attended International Praise Church of God. Margaret lived with her beloved sister, Virginia Brooks. She is survived by her cherished sisters, Virginia Brooks and Ella B. Hill, both of Lugoff; sister-in-law, Pricilla Salmond of Lugoff; brother-in-law, John Hill of Lugoff; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by brother, Willie Salmond; sisters, Ernestine Brooks and Lillie Mae Jefferson; and a brother-in-law, Gilbert Jefferson. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at International Praise Church of God with burial to follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church. Serving as active pallbearers will be, Tracey O. Manigo of Camden, Jamie Manigo of Lugoff, Wayne Brooks of Lugoff, Cory Hill of Lugoff, Dennis Hill of Lugoff and Ralph Hill of Lugoff. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
