Obituary of Mary Cronan Warnock
CAMDEN – A celebration of life service for Mary Cronan Warnock, 74, will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with a brief visitation following the service. A private burial service a Fort Jackson National Cemetery will be held at a later date. The Rev. Bryan Plyler will officiate. The family welcomes friends to visit and share memories at the home of Todd and Kelly Warnock at 2 Ancrum Road anytime Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to KershawHealth Home Health and Hospice.
Mrs. Warnock passed away on August 1, 2016. Born in Alpharetta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Carl Clifford Cronan and Mary Andrews Cronan. She served as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines before marrying and moving to Camden in 1963 where, after a brief stint as a District Manager for Tupperware, she began a long, successful career in real estate as an agent, broker and owner of her own company.
Mrs. Warnock served in leadership positions in many county civic and professional organizations, including the Kershaw County Board of Realtors, Camden High Camband Club, Kershaw County YMCA, Kirkover Hills Garden Club, The United Way and the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (which also included a starring role in an early production of The Rainmaker). She was also a member of First Baptist Church, Camden.
She is survived by her sons, Todd Warnock (Kelly) of Camden, Mark Warnock (Annsley) of Columbia, Scott Warnock (Beth) of Camden; daughter, Harriett Tokar (Mike) of Red Bank; grandsons, Markus, Robert, William and Thomas Warnock; granddaughters, Lauren Henderson (Trent), Taylor McDonald (Chris), Madison Cothron (Will), McKenzie Warnock and Weslee West; and great-grandchildren, Jude, Ellie-Kate, Olivia and Liam.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Franklin “Bob” Warnock, her parents, Carl and Mary Cronan; and eight brothers and sisters; Lloyd, Ethel Mae, Paul, Eugene, Annette, Martha Jean, Harold and Jimmy.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at Morningside of Camden and KershawHealth Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they provided to her that ensured her final days were filled with comfort and peace.
