LUGOFF – Funeral services for Fannie McCaskill Walters, 89, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Marvin Tennant III will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Mrs. Walters, wife of the late Joseph C. Watlers, Sr., died Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late A.J. and Gussie Syphrett McCaskill. Surviving are her son, Joseph C. Walters, Jr. (TyAnn) of Lugoff; daughters, Joan Velez (Poncho) of Lancaster, Delores Morris (David) of Patrick, Shelley Tennant (Marvin) of Lancaster; 9 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
