CASSATT – Funeral service for John Douglas King, 65, will be held on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. King passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016. Born in Camden, he was the son of James Douglas King and the late Mary Alice Trimnal King. He served in the United States Army and served during Vietnam. He retired from Praxair and was an avid NASCAR fan. Surviving are his wife, Lois Paula Small King; sons, Doug King (Kim) of Camden and Whit King (Micah) of Camden; step-son, Richard Darrel Barnes (Alex) of Camden; brothers, Jimmy King of Camden and Fred Michael King of Monks Corner; sister, Rose Powers (Henry) of Lugoff; and 4 grandchildren.
