Obituary of Travis J. Hollis

Mr. Travis Jarreau Hollis, affectionately known as "TJ," was born on December 22, 1982, to Dienell Wood and the late Jesse Calvin Hollis. On Sunday, September 27, 2026, TJ departed his earthly life at MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center.

TJ was a resident of Lugoff, South Carolina, and a faithful member of Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Church in Elgin, South Carolina, where he joyfully served in the music ministry as a drummer and served on the Steward Committee. He had a passion for music, loved to dance, enjoyed cooking, and cherished watching Clemson Football games with his sons. His family was blessed by his bright presence, and he was deeply loved for his sweet spirit.

He was employed at McDonald's for over 20 years, serving as a dedicated and faithful Manager.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are his mother, Dienell Wood of Lugoff, South Carolina; his sons, Elijah Rashad Hollis of Winnsboro, South Carolina, Travis Jarreau Hollis Jr. of Lugoff, South Carolina, and Kenneth Isaiah Hollis of Lugoff, South Carolina; one brother, Derrick Laverne Bennett of Lugoff, South Carolina; one nephew, Hayden Bennett of Blythewood, South Carolina; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

A funeral service for TJ will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Sinai AME Church Cemetery in Elgin, S.C. The family will receive friends from 4pm - 6pm on Monday, October 5, 2026 at the funeral home.
