Obituary of Jean Ann Sorensen
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Jean, who passed away on September 19, 2026 at the age of 64.
Jean was born on July 3, 1963, in Spooner, WI, to Melvin Sorensen and Ruth Sorensen Halverson. Jean graduated from Spooner High School in 1980.
Jean had a lifelong passion for gardening, especially growing tomatoes, which were always her favorite. She also enjoyed crocheting beautiful handmade gifts for those she loved leaving behind treasured keepsakes that will be cherished for generations. Jean had a fun collection of memorable can coozies from different places and moments in her life. She looked forward to watching NASCAR races with Scott and found joy in the simple moments shared with family and friends. Jean was so excited that they just purchased their very own home. She had big plans for every inch of space.
Throughout her life, Jean wore many hats like working at WITC for many years, waitressing at Danas in Spooner, helping at a few bars and many more. In the process she touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and caring spirit. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement to those who needed them.
Jean is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lona (Chad Noll), Amanda (Dennis Boyd), and Cristie (Nick Holwerda); her 12 grandchildren, 2 bonus grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; and her devoted and loving spouse, Scott, whose unwavering love and support meant the world to her, and his family, Chantel Strickland, Ransom Strickland and JonLuke Strickland; her mother, Ruth Halverson; her brother, Donnie Sorensen; and sisters, Martha Sorensen (Steve Allard), Jo Sorensen (Ken Henk), Greta Sorensen Coddington, and Sparky Musolf.
She was taken far too early to enjoy all the things she worked to do, places planned to travel, and adventures planned to do in retirement. She will forever be missed.
A memorial service will be held next summer in Wisconsin.
Though she is no longer with us, her love, and the beautiful memories will remain with us forever.
