Obituary of Sidney Burkett

Sidney Burkett, born on June 7, 1957, in the heart of Rembert, South Carolina, began his journey beyond the stars on July 31, 2026. 

As a Construction Foreman, his work was more than a job; it was an art form meticulously crafted, brick by brick, much like the life he built for himself. His passion for sports was a testament to his competitive spirit. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys and LA Lakers fan.  Sidney also found solace in the tranquility of nature, often spending his free time fishing and playing baseball.

Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Alston Burkett; sister, Christine Burkett; aunts, Amanda Glover, Rose Burkett, Alma Alston, Dorothy Glover; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, Sidney B. Burkett and Inez Glover Burkett and sisters, Virginia Lee Burkett and Laura Jean Burkett.

Sidney's life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, located at 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina, 29078.
