Obituary of Bobby Robert Joyner

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bobby Robert Joyner, who entered his heavenly home on July 24, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born on February 7, 1935, in Bishopville (Lee County), South Carolina, Bobby was a man whose life was defined by unwavering faith, hard work, quiet strength, and, above all, an extraordinary love for his family. He spent his life serving others with humility and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Bobby was a skilled carpenter by trade, specializing in cabinetry. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and strong work ethic earned the admiration of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. He took great pride in building not only beautiful cabinets but also a life centered on integrity and service.

Bobby was a devoted member of St. Andrew Church of God, where his faith guided every aspect of his life. He faithfully served his church family for many years and found great joy in worship, fellowship, and sharing God's love with those around him.

Outside of work, Bobby found happiness in camping, fishing, traveling—especially trips to the beach—and spending time outdoors. Yet nothing brought him greater joy than making memories with the people he loved most. His gentle spirit, quiet wisdom, and steadfast devotion made him the foundation of his family.

The greatest love story of Bobby's life was the one he shared with his beloved wife, Dollie McCaa Joyner. Their marriage was built on unwavering love, faith, commitment, and partnership through every season of life. Bobby loved Dollie deeply and faithfully, and after her passing on December 14, 2022, he carried her memory in his heart every day. Though he continued to surround his family with love, those closest to him knew that he longed for the day they would be reunited. It brings comfort to his family to know that Bobby is now at peace, reunited with the love of his life, resting beside his beloved wife in the presence of his Lord.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Dollie McCaa Joyner; his parents, Moody and Thelma Joyner; and his brother, Virgil Joyner.

Bobby is survived by his loving daughter, Karen Joyner of Lugoff; his son, Darrell Joyner and wife Jodi of Camden; his sister, Celeste Murphy; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory and carry forward his legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Cameron Gill, MUSC Hospice, Tripp and Tiffany, owners of The Catery on Broad, for the exceptional care, compassion, and unwavering support they provided to Bobby and his family. They also extend their sincere appreciation to Barbara Jean and Wayne Shiver for their love, friendship, and steadfast support during this difficult time.

Though Bobby will be deeply missed, his family finds peace in knowing that he has been welcomed into his eternal home, where he has been joyfully reunited with his beloved Dollie. His life was a beautiful testament to faith, hard work, unconditional love, and the enduring strength of family. His memory and example will live on for generations to come.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 5-7 pm at Powers Funeral Home, located at 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina, 29078. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Andrew Church of God, located at 4238 Red Hill Road, Camden, South Carolina, 29020, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
