Kenneth Heyward Gadsden, born on December 13, 1949 in Columbia, S.C., departed this world on July 19, 2026 at his home. A man of profound strength and a beacon of love, Kenneth made his life's mission to serve God, his country and his family. A proud U.S. Army retiree (SFC), he spent a significant part of his life wearing the nation's uniform, embodying the principles of duty and honor. After retirement from the U.S. Army, Kenneth also retired as a supervisor from the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice. Kenneth found his home in Elgin, S.C. where he enjoyed traveling, supporting S.C. State Football and his beloved 49ers.

Kenneth's love for his family, his faith and music played an instrumental role in his life. His passion for melodies was as vast as his love for his family. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Columbia. Kenneth's love for life was infectious and he brought joy to everyone he met.
