Michael A. Waldrep Obituary
It is with profound sorrow and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Waldrep, on Friday, June 26, 2026. Born on May 6, 1948, in Chester, SC, Michael was the son of the late William Durant and Pauline Rebecca Lancaster Waldrep.
Michael, a devoted husband, was united in marriage with his beloved wife, Donna Reed Waldrep, on June 7, 1988. Together, they built a life in Camden, South Carolina, filled with shared dreams, love, and mutual respect. Michael had an illustrious career with Norfolk Southern as a Conductor, a role that he approached with an enviable level of commitment and professionalism until his retirement. But Michael was not defined solely by his professional achievements. He was also a man of varied interests, and his hobbies showcased his multifaceted personality. A skilled woodworker, he could transform a simple piece of wood into a masterpiece. His love for golf allowed him to enjoy the great outdoors and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts.
A proud member of St. Mary Magdeline Anglican Church in Camden, S.C., Michael was a man of deep faith. His spirituality was the guiding force in his life, providing him strength, direction, and a sense of purpose.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Waldrep; children, Christopher Waldrep (Holly), Amanda Lynn Garner, Katherine Michelle Outlaw, and William Pate Waldrep (Brittany); brother, William Melton Waldrep (Cathy); sister-in-law, Rhonda Waldrep; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother, Danny Durant Waldrep.
